Dignitaries Felicitated by the His Excellency Governor of Assam at the International Buddha Peace Award & Gaurav Shri Samman Ceremony

On a memorable evening dedicated to celebrating humanity, innovation, and impactful service, the Maitry Peace Foundation organized its prestigious International Buddha Peace Award & Gaurav Shri Samman ceremony on 2nd May 2025 in the vibrant cultural city of Guwahati, Assam. The event honored individuals from across India who have made remarkable contributions to society in areas such as education, health, entrepreneurship, and social development.

The awards were formally presented by the Honourable Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inspirational address, the Governor praised the awardees for their outstanding dedication and lauded the Maitry Peace Foundation’s efforts in celebrating selfless service and achievement.

“The individuals we honor today have shown us the extraordinary impact of commitment, compassion, and creativity. Their work not only uplifts communities but also serves as a guiding light for the generations to come,” stated Governor Acharya.

The event featured the presentation of commemorative trophies and citations to each awardee, recognizing their invaluable contributions and encouraging continued efforts in their respective fields.

The ceremony was presided over by Surajit Barua, President of the Maitry Peace Foundation and a distinguished Buddhist monk. Addressing the audience, he reflected on the importance of honoring individuals who embody the spirit of peace, resilience, and social responsibility.

“Every awardee here today reminds us of the power of positive action. Their lives demonstrate that true peace is built through service and perseverance,” said Surajit Barua.

Among the esteemed recipients were Shri Gadde Narahari, Shri Manoj Kacharia, and Mr. Uttam Das, who were honored with the International Buddha Peace Award & Gaurav Shri Samman.

Mr. Uttam Das is a dynamic and visionary personality whose creative and entrepreneurial achievements have earned him national and global recognition. As the author of the world’s first-ever book written in Mirror Language, he has broken new ground in literature and established multiple National and World Records. In parallel with his literary pursuits, Mr. Das has demonstrated excellence in business as the founder of Uttam’s Sweets & Restaurants, a brand synonymous with quality, tradition, and customer care. His journey reflects a rare blend of innovation, determination, and societal contribution. Through both his writings and entrepreneurial ventures, he continues to inspire the youth to dream beyond limitations and strive for excellence.
